The John Gomez, MD Memorial Scholarship: Deadline April 25, 2025
John Gomez, MD, was a dedicated physician, husband, and father who passed away too soon. John served his immediate community as a physician for fifteen years and had a reputation for going above and beyond for his patients in order to make a difference in their lives. John was also known for having a strong work ethic and generous spirit.
This scholarship aims to honor the life of John Gomez by supporting students from Texas who will be pursuing higher education. Any high school senior at Argyle High School or Flower Mound High School in Texas who has at least a 3.5 or higher GPA (or 95 out of 100 on the numerical scale) may apply for this scholarship.
Alex Betzhold Memorial Scholarship: Deadline April 14th
The Alex Betzhold Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a senior student/s at Argyle High School whose plans upon graduation include furthering their education as a full-time student. The $1000 scholarship will be sent directly to the recipient’s educational institution to help pay tuition costs. An awarding committee will select a recipient based on the student’s character, motivation and need.

Terry Traditional Scholarships: Deadline varies by college
The Terry Traditional Scholarship, or Freshman Scholarship, is a full ride, last dollar scholarship that covers up to eight semesters. It is awarded to Texas high school seniors who have been accepted for admission to one of the Terry-affiliated public universities in Texas. Applications for the Terry Scholarship are available only from the universities affiliated with the Terry Scholarship Program and are not available from the Foundation or from high schools. STATEWIDE AND NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
H-E-B UIL Scholarship Program: Deadline January 31st
H-E-B's 7th year supporting the UIL Scholarship Program for Community Service Excellence. Nominees must have the following submitted no later than Jan. 31, 2025:
- Minimum 3.3 GPA
- Number of Community Service Hours completed in the last 12 months
- Community Service Verification Letters to document the number of hours submitted
- A Letter of Recommendation
- A Short Essay (500 words or less) on the topic: “What does Community mean to you?”
There will be 15 total winners – 5 each in music, academics and athletics – and each will be awarded $2,000 from H-E-B. An announcement of the winners will be made at the 2025 UIL Basketball State Champions in March.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program: Deadline June 10th
Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue with their scholarship program for the 19th year. They will be awarding $1,000 to the winner(s) each year.

Tarleton's Guaranteed Scholarship Program
In order to be considered for the President’s Guaranteed Scholarship program, you must complete your General Scholarships Application. Awards will be divided between fall and spring semesters based on full-time enrollment and be renewable for up to 4 years with satisfactory academic progress. Tarleton Promise Program
To be considered for the Tarleton Promise program, the student must complete Tarleton’s General Scholarships Application and FAFSA application. The award is renewable for up to four years as long as the following eligibility requirements are met each year the student attends Tarleton. The Promise Program serves to assist qualifying students in covering the costs of room and board for which the other grants do not. Click here for more information.
